Workshop for Activating The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between SASO and the Ministry of Defense
SASO has organized the first workshop for activating the memorandum of understanding (MOU) that has been signed recently between SASO and the Ministry of Defense to strengthen cooperation and strategic partnership. In addition, to achieve the overall interest of the country in general and the military sector in the Kingdom in particular.
For his part, the Governor of SASO, Dr. Saad AlKasabi, during the opening of the workshop, organized by SASO on Thursday, 26 Dhu al-Qi'dah 1436 AH corresponding to 10 September 2015, at the headquarter in Riyadh, has assured that SASO is keen to be an active link in supporting and strengthening the military capabilities of the Kingdom. Furthermore, he noted that supporting the military system, either through applying quality systems or preparing standard specifications related to military products, is a great honor to all officials and employees of SASO.
Dr. AlKasabi said that SASO has exploited all its capabilities during the last period to come up with a joint work system at all levels that will support and strengthen the cooperation relationship between the two sides, especially in the fields of the quality system applications, standards, calibration, and other relevant areas. In addition, to achieve national goals, principles and policies of science and technology, especially the ones related to the preservation of the comprehensive national security, in order to achieve a balanced sustainable development based on the various standardization activities that are best invested. This development is to keep up with the requirements of the Ministry of Defense and to meet its scientific and technical needs as a military institution.
He expressed his hope that the workshop will result in an effective cooperation roadmap meeting the aspirations of our wise leadership - may Allah bless it, and strengthening the technical capacity of the two sides to achieve the interest of our generous country and for the benefit of our nation and people.
During the workshop, the efforts of SASO's different operating sectors, including the sectors of standards, quality, calibration, laboratory and accreditation, have been reviewed. Also, specialists from SASO have discussion the terms of each sector with the Ministry of Defense.
