Students' Delegation From Al Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University Recognizes Activities and Role of "SASO" in Consumer Protection
A students' delegation of Al-Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University visited the headquarter of SASO on Wednesday, 22/01/1437 AH, to learn about the efforts of SASO to maintain consumer safety and to identify the role of standards in the development of the national economy through applying them on Goods and products and improving the competitiveness of national products.
The visit came within the framework of SASO's awareness efforts to define the various activities after becoming a referential special organization in the field of standards, metrology and quality at the national, regional and international level.
During the visit, Al-Imam University students saw a documentary film about SASO, that offered a brief summary of its inception, efforts, feature achievements and tangible role in maintaining the health and safety of the consumer. Also, its role in the development and modernization of Saudi standards and technical regulations for the protection of national markets' non-conformity goods with the Saudi standards and supporting the national economy.
The students also recognized efforts made by SASO laboratories toward preparing Saudi standards and necessary researches. They also saw the special scientific instruments for testing and examining and saw the steps samples of goods and products go through until reaching the final results and ensuring their conformity with the related Saudi standards.
Student delegation also visited the National Center for measurement and calibration, and learned about its role in the verification of the accuracy of measurement and testing devices used in the industrial and service facilities in all sectors and in granting calibration certificates and other tasks.
