SASO Obligates Suppliers to Register Batteries and Paints on Saber Platform

SASO has announced that it obligates traders and suppliers to register new consumer products on Saber electronic platform in order to be allowed to enter the Saudi market.

SASO has included additional regulations for products to be registered on Saber platform, including products subject to the technical regulations of electric self-balancing hoverboards (scooters), trucks under-run protective devices, biodegradable plastic products in its first phase (all disposable plastic bags, tablecloths, barley bags and plastic woven bags), as well as products subject to the technical regulation of electric batteries, and the regulation of paints including dyes and varnishes.

Furthermore, SASO explained that Saber electronic platform makes it easier for beneficiaries; suppliers and owners of local factories to access their conformity assessment bodies around the world to obtain certificates of conformity and consignment in order to register them on Saber platform to facilitate and accelerate the procedures of products entering the Saudi market. Therefore, this leads to a reduction in time spent in the process of conformity after becoming done electronically and easily.
