Al-Kasabi Thanks the Leadership for Approving the Organization of SAC

His Excellency the Governor of SASO, Chairman of Saudi Accreditation Committee, Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-Kasabi, extended his thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud- may Allah Bless them- on the occasion of the Council of Ministers' approval to organize the Saudi Accreditation Center (SAC).

His Excellency said that the approval of the Council of Ministers to organize the SAC is an important and strategic step to ensure the impartiality and independence of accreditation activities in the Kingdom, to comply with international practices in this area. This step will greatly support the governance of the work of this important technical activity.

Dr. Saad Al-Kasabi confirmed that the approval of SAC will push the Kingdom's efforts to promote export growth in accordance with international requirements and create new investment opportunities in the fields of conformity assessment (i.e., testing, inspection and certification). In addition, this will increase the reliability locally and globally with the efficiency and impartiality of the system of quality infrastructure and consequently the recognition of its outputs internationally. Therefore, this will be reflected positively on facilitating trade exchange, raising the level of quality of national products and increasing Saudi exports by contributing to opening international markets through mutual recognition programs in the field of accreditation.

It is noteworthy that SAC aims to achieve the efficiency of conformity assessment bodies, consumer protection, maintaining public health and safety, granting confidence in the services of conformity assessment bodies. Therefore, this leads to enhance the participation of the private sector to invest in the provision of these services, as well as raising the level of quality, adequacy, and confidence of services and products.
