ISO 5412:2022 Plastics — Industrial compostable plastic shopping bags

This standard specifies requirements, test methods, and regulations for testing, packaging, transportation, and storage of compostable plastic shopping bags. This document applies to plastic shopping bags made of compostable synthetic plastic resin as the main raw material, and processed by heat sealing or bonding. This document does not apply to biodegradable industrial plastic bags, such as compostable industrial roll bags and other bags that are used only for packaging and are not used to carry shopping. This standard enables the characterization of compostable plastic bags by following two experimental approaches that lead to the definition of two classes (Class I and Class II).
