Open data are data that can be used freely by anyone without technical, financial or legal restrictions, and also reused and disseminated, taking into account the requirements of the legal licence under which such data were published through
the national open data portal.
SASO has provided open data to all visitors through an open library that contains several types of data in multiple formats that can be easily processed and reused, in order to enhance transparency and encourage electronic participation. In addition, SASO sought to share this data with the beneficiaries through
the national open data portal.

In line with the concepts of open data and the era of digital data, SASO is keen to provide data that can be used and utilized by segments of developers, researchers, media professionals and general public.
In terms of definition, open data are referred to as data that can be used freely by any individual without technical, financial or legal restrictions and also re-used and disseminated, often only taking into account two conditions:
- Attribution of rights to their owners
- Make the data available for sharing
The word "open" indicates that everyone has full free access to, use, modify and share data for any purpose (provided the source is mentioned and resubmitted to the principle of open access).
The following are some points related to the obligations of SASO and the website visitors with regard to data:

The e-participation channels also receive the views and suggestions of the beneficiaries on developing this platform and making use of the data published on it.

In line with this support, SASO has made Open Data APIs available. These APIs allow users to access data published by Saudi Standards in an organized and interactive manner, making it easier for them to integrate this data into their applications, research, and projects in a direct and efficient way. Quality Mark Data:
Saudi Standards provides a service for licensing the use of the quality mark for products of an establishment that adopts an effective management system, ensuring the production of goods that comply with Saudi standards.
Standards Data:
documents developed by general agreement and adopted by a recognized body, offered for general and repeated use. They include rules, general guidelines, or characteristics related to activities or their results, aiming to set standards, requirements, and technical specifications necessary for goods and products to achieve an acceptable level of quality to ensure consumer health and safety.
Fuel Economy Data:
Saudi Standards provides a service for issuing fuel economy labels after verifying that vehicles comply with the Saudi standards and technical regulations concerning fuel economy.
Electrical Appliances Data (SLS):
Saudi Standards offers a service for issuing energy efficiency labels after verifying that electrical appliances comply with Saudi standards and technical regulations concerning electrical appliances.
Certificates of Conformity Data:
Saudi Standards issues a number of certificates of conformity for products and services, including water consumption, to ensure they comply with Saudi standards and specifications.
IECEE Certificates Data:
A document issued by Saudi Standards to prove that the product(s) comply with safety standards according to international specifications, based on a test report and certificate issued by an accredited laboratory or a granting authority recognized under conformity assessment programs.
Modified Vehicles Data:
A service provided by the Saudi Standards to inspect modified vehicles to ensure they still comply with Saudi standards and specifications after modification for the purpose of registration with traffic authorities.
Imported Vehicles Data:
Saudi Standards inspects imported vehicles to ensure they comply with Saudi standards.
Water Consumption for Products Data:
Saudi Standards issues licenses for water consumption labels on sanitary ware as mentioned in the technical regulation for water consumption reduction tools, ensuring they comply with Saudi standards.
Tires Data:
Saudi Standards offers a service for issuing energy efficiency labels for tires after verifying that they comply with the Saudi standards and technical regulations concerning tires.
