Upon the resolution of the Council of Ministers No. (61) Dated 28/2/1430 AH to change the name of the Organization by adding quality to be (Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization). This indicates the concern of our wise leadership, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, may Allah protect him, about quality systems and their importance for all activities, especially economy in all branches. Also, it shows the wise leadership consciousness that this philosophy has become a necessary requirement to deal with the developments and keep abreast of developments within the Kingdom and abroad. Thus, SASO became an official body for all quality control activities and the implementation of its standards in the Kingdom, whether in government or private sectors. SASO works to coordinate with the relevant bodies as a partner with all parties concerned with quality, which supports the national economy and serves the product, the merchandiser and the consumer alike.
Quality is defined as the totality of features and characteristics of a product or service that bears its ability to satisfy stated or implied needs.
