SASO and "JICA" Launch First Cooperation Programs in the Saudi-Japanese Vision 2030

SASO, in collaboration with Japan International Cooperation Agency "JICA" began implementing the first joint cooperation initiatives between the Kingdom and Japan as part of the Saudi-Japanese Joint Vision 2030. A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the two sides last March on the sidelines of the visit of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz - may God protect him - to Japan.

This initiative aims to raise the efficiency of institutional performance in the Kingdom's organizations and institutions in cooperation with specialized experts from Japan through the application of the Kaizen methodology to improve the quality of performance, the working environment and the services provided to the beneficiaries.

For his part, Eng. Abdullah bin Awad Al Qahtani, Deputy Governor at SASO, clarified that this initiative comes within the framework of the Saudi-Japanese Vision 2030, where SASO was chosen along with two other national bodies as the starting point for this project. The initiative is being implemented within SASO first and then it is expected to be circulated to all national institutions and bodies.

Eng. Al-Qahtani assured SASO's keenness to enhance cooperation with the Japanese side in this regard, in order to translate the government's approach to raise the efficiency of government performance and promote quality and excellence practices in national institutions.

Furthermore, he pointed out that the actual implementation of the initiative began in SASO last week, where it was initially applied to one of SASO's specialized laboratories, the phased implementation will continue according to the set timetable with the help and guidance of Allah.
