     This department is concerned with setting priorities in the preparation of technical regulations based on applications of entities involved, results of market surveys conducted by Department of Implementation Follow-up and Incident Detection, international practices, and other countries' experiences in this area.
 
 
Tasks:
 
• Study current situation to set priorities in the preparation of technical regulations and develop a list of the priorities.
• Develop a plan for the preparation of technical regulations.
• Prepare, update and withdraw technical regulation projects in coordination with relevant competent bodies, through Conformity Committee.
• Represent SASO at Conformity Steering Committee,  Gulf 
Committee for Conformity Assessment (GCCA), and other relevant committees.
• Perform tasks of the Secretariat of Conformity Steering Committee.
